Why dive here
With 189+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, mobula rays (devil rays), ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses and sea turtles - Mar Menor offers some of Cabo de Palos's richest lagoon diving. Water ranges 15-28°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Mar Menor offers a different kind of dive in Cabo de Palos. This large saltwater lagoon, separated from the Med by a sandbar, is incredibly shallow and surprisingly warm. It’s perfect for those looking for an easy, calm dive, maybe for skills practice or just a relaxed potter around. We’ve spotted seahorses here before, camouflaged amongst the sparse seagrass.
