Olympos Diving Center - Kas & Kekova

The team at Olympos Diving Center are the kind of people you want to spend a day on a boat with. They run a smooth operation out of Kaş, which we rate as one of the most charming towns on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast. Their house reef, right in front of the shop, is a perfect spot for those getting back in the water, a gentle slope to 12 metres where we’ve often spotted ornate ghost pipefish tucked into the seagrass. But where Olympos really shines is their access to the sites around Kekova. While many centres visit the same few spots, Olympos has a knack for finding quieter corners, especially around the sunken city. We’d suggest asking for an early start to beat the day-trippers. There’s a particular wall dive they do, just past the ancient ruins, where the light plays off the amphora fields at about 25 metres. The visibility here can hit 30 metres on a good day, giving you that sensation of flying over history. Their instructors, many of whom have been diving these waters for decades, have a genuine passion for the area’s history, pointing out small details you’d otherwise miss. It’s a thoughtful, unhurried approach to diving that we really appreciate.
