With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - SARAH offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Diving the Sarah, you're looking at a real piece of history. This wooden sailing vessel, sunk in 1884 after a collision, lies scattered, her timbers providing a home for crabs and lobsters. It’s not a dramatic, intact wreck, more a gentle exploration of what time and the sea do to wood. We’ve found decent visibility here on a good day, allowing you to trace the remains of her hull and perhaps imagine her final voyage from Cardiff. This site suits divers who appreciate historical context over pristine structure, and who enjoy the challenge of spotting elusive critters amongst the wreckage.
