PRESTO - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The *Presto* is one of those wrecks that just grabs you, even at a mere 14 metres. We’ve dived her when the visibility felt like pea soup, and we’ve dived her when the light rays sliced through the water, revealing her structure like a ghost. This isn’t a pick for pristine corals, obviously, but for a slice of history frozen in time, she’s hard to beat. What you get here is a proper steamship, laid out pretty intact on the seabed. You can often make out the bow pointing seaward, and the stern section is always a favourite for a good rummage around. Keep an eye out for the boilers – they're a classic feature and give you a real sense of her scale. We’ve spent many a dive just circling, watching the cod and wrasse flit between the frames, and sometimes you'll spot a grumpy conger eel peering out from a dark corner. The *Presto* is perfect for newer wreck divers wanting to experience a substantial wreck without deep-water challenges. It's an easy dive that rewards careful exploration, especially when the light is good.
