HMS PARVATI - Gulf of Tadjoura

The HMS Parvati is a proper piece of history, resting upright at 36 metres like she’s still on patrol. We love this wreck not just for her age – sunk in 1941 – but for how complete she feels. Dropping down, you’re greeted by the ghostly silhouette of her bow, often shrouded in a shimmering curtain of glassfish. It’s a deep dive, definitely one for experienced wreck divers comfortable with extended bottom times, but the rewards are considerable. Her superstructure is largely intact, allowing for some intriguing swim-throughs if you're appropriately trained and equipped. Inside, we’ve found the spaces surprisingly open, with light filtering through the portholes creating an eerie, almost cathedral-like atmosphere. Keep an eye out for robust scorpionfish camouflaged against the rust, and giant moray eels peeking from every shadowed nook. The Parvati is a wreck diver’s dream; she tells a story, and the marine life that has colonised her just adds another layer to her silent narrative.
