OCEAN DIRK - Sharm el-Sheikh

Okay, the Ocean Dirk. We love this wreck for a quick, chilled-out dive, especially when the main Thistlegorm boat is packed. It's a tug, obviously, sitting upright and fully intact at a mere 11 meters, so you get incredible bottom time. You can swim right through the bridge, which is our favourite part, feeling the cool water swirl as you pass from one side to the other. Look for the resident lionfish tucked into the shadowed corners. What makes it special? The sheer amount of glassfish that school over the deck. Sometimes they’re so thick they truly block the sunlight, a shimmering, silver curtain. We often see blue-spotted rays resting on the sand nearby, too, and nudibranchs are always a good find on the hull plates. It’s perfect for newer divers getting their first taste of a wreck, or anyone who just wants to potter about without worrying about depth or deco limits.
