Ras Ghamila - Sharm el-Sheikh

Ras Ghamila, Arabic for 'Delightful Cape', marks the northernmost edge of Sharm el-Sheikh’s local diving. We’re looking at a reef tongue here, stretching east, almost directly across from Gordon Reef. It carves out a shallow, sandy lagoon on one side, facing the open sea on the other, capped by a green beacon that’s pretty hard to miss. The maximum depth here tops out around 12 meters, making it a comfortable dive for those looking for something relaxed, maybe a second dive of the day. It’s a nice drift through a coral channel, often with schools of reef fish zipping by, and we’ve spotted blue-spotted rays resting on the sandy patches.
