MIZNAK - Tyre

The Miznak, an ex-Israeli fast attack craft, sits upright at 30 metres just off the coast of Tyre. This wreck, intentionally sunk for divers, offers a compelling glimpse into naval history. We love exploring the bridge area, where the light alloy superstructure has started to break down, giving it a ghostlier feel than the sturdy steel hull. You can penetrate some of the interior, but be mindful of snagging points and tight squeezes. The ship’s design means plenty of nooks and crannies for fish. Schools of damselfish shimmer around the missile launchers, and we often spot moray eels peering out from beneath what would have been the gun mounts. It’s a great dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the chance to connect with a unique piece of maritime history, not just another cargo ship. Our favourite time to dive it is mid-morning, when the sun penetrates the 30-metre depth just enough to highlight the wreck’s imposing silhouette.
