Turkish Cement Boat (Wreck) - אוניית המלט הטורכית - Tyre

Lebanon’s coastline holds some genuinely interesting wrecks, and the Turkish Cement Boat near Tyre is one of our favourites for a relaxed afternoon dive. It’s sitting upright in just 13 metres, which means plenty of bottom time, even for newer divers. The bow points north, and the whole structure is remarkably intact, considering the years it’s spent down there. What we love about this wreck is how approachable it is. You can easily swim through the superstructure, ducking into the cargo hold where cement bags would have once been piled. Now, it's a home for schools of cardinalfish that flash silver in your torch beam, and we’ve often spotted moray eels peeking out from under twisted metal. On the deck, we regularly find scorpionfish camouflaged against the rust, so keep your eyes peeled. The shallow depth means ambient light floods most of the wreck, making for some dramatic photos as the sun filters through the gaps. It’s a rewarding dive that combines a bit of history with some solid marine life encounters.
