OSCAR MIGUEL - Isla de la Plata

Oscar Miguel. Now, this is a wreck that has earned its stripes. We’re talking about a trawler, a proper working vessel, that went down in '77. You can really feel that history as you descend, the structure still holding its shape at 43 metres, a dark silhouette against the blue. There’s a quiet solemnity down there, but also this incredible explosion of new life. We love dropping onto the bow, often seeing big schools of jacks swirling just off the deck. Exploring the holds, you’ll find them carpeted in colourful sponges and anemones, with octopuses often tucked into the darker crevices. The sheer size, at 28 metres long, gives you plenty to explore without feeling overwhelmed, a good multi-level dive if you manage your gas properly. It's a fantastic spot for experienced divers who appreciate a wreck with real character and the vibrant ecosystem it creates. Come ready for a slightly deeper profile; the rewards are worth it.
