Muelle abandonado - Lima & Palomino Islands

Playa Chica at Puerto Naos is our go-to when we want an easy day of diving with some serious punch. The entry is simple, just a walk-in from a small beach, which makes it perfect for a relaxed start or finish to the day. What we love here is the sheer variety you get right from the shore. Drop down and you’re immediately into a volcanic wall environment, riddled with crevices and overhangs. Keep your eyes peeled for morays and conger eels poking their heads out; they’re pretty much everywhere you look. We usually head right, following the wall down. There’s a sweet spot around 15-20 meters where the wall has some nice structure, offering good shelter for blennies and gobies. On a calm day, visibility often pushes past 20 meters, making it easy to spot the bigger stuff out in the blue. We’ve had incredible encounters here, not just with tuna darting past, but even a surprise visit from a monkfish tucked away on the sandy bottom once. It’s an accessible site that consistently delivers interesting marine life, making it a firm favourite for a stress-free dive any time of year.
