Secret Bay - Bali

The Nursery, a gentle site tucked into the Bay of Islands, is one of our favourite spots for a truly relaxed dive. We love this site for its easygoing vibe and the sheer amount of small stuff you can find tucked away. Dropping down, you're immediately struck by the sheer volume of juvenile fish darting around – it’s a living, breathing aquarium, exactly as the name suggests. You’ll spend most of your time between 5 and 10 metres, poking around the boulders and cracks that are absolutely plastered with vibrant invertebrates and swaying kelp. Keep an eye out for Crimson cleaner fish doing their thing, and we always spot a few Pigfish nosing around the rocks. The visibility averages a decent 12 metres, often better on a calm day, making it easy to spot the tiny Yellow-and-black Triplefins or the slightly larger Spotted Robust Triplefins camouflaged against the rocks. This is a perfect site for photographers wanting to slow down and find macro subjects, or for newer divers building confidence. If you're lucky, some of the local seals might even pop in for a quick, playful inspection.
