Tanjung Dehibira - Halmahera

Water Factory, also known as Fisherman’s Wharf, consistently delivers a good dive. We love the immediate drop-off into a steep wall, running parallel to shore. At just 19m max depth, it’s a brilliant spot for long bottom times and really focusing on the smaller stuff. We’ve had great luck here with Banded Cleaner Shrimp, always busy in their stations, and Darter Gobies flitting between the corals. Look closely for the Molly Miller blennies – they’re masters of disguise against the sponges. The coral itself is pretty healthy, lots of Great Star Coral and big barrel sponges that sometimes hide a spotted drum. Visibility usually hovers around 20m, which is good enough to appreciate the scale of the wall without feeling lost. It’s a pretty easy dive, good for new divers or those who just want a relaxed potter, and it can be a nice drift if the current is pushing gently along the coast. Keep an eye out for larger grey snapper cruising past the wall.
