Terumbu Divers - Lombok & Gili Islands
The team at Terumbu Divers, located on Sire Beach in Lombok, are the kind of people you want to dive with. They’ve been here since 1999, so they know these waters like the back of their hand, which is exactly what you want when navigating the Gili’s sometimes lively currents. We love that their base is right on the beach within the Anema resort; it means easy access to the boats and a chilled-out vibe post-dive, maybe with a cold Bintang as the sun dips. Our favourite part about Terumbu is their emphasis on really getting to know the local sites, not just rushing you through the highlights. They’re excellent for PADI courses, from Discover Diving for the absolute newbies to full Divemaster training, and they make it genuinely fun. We’d suggest them particularly if you’re keen to explore Lombok’s less-dived spots away from the Gili crowds. They can often arrange trips that feel much more exclusive, chasing schooling barracuda at The Magnet or exploring the quieter pinnacles. Ask them about the conditions for a morning dive; sometimes you catch the reef sharks just as they’re becoming active, before the day boats arrive.
