THAI PORE 11 - Redang Island

The Thai Pore 11, a motor vessel that went down in 1985, is a bit of a shallow-water oddity here in Redang. It’s grounded at just 2m, which makes it less a dive and more of a snorkel or very, very shallow exploration. We’re talking about a 97.8m ship, so even broken up, there’s a fair bit of metal to poke around. You'll likely spot schools of juvenile snappers darting between the rusty plates, and the odd parrotfish munching on algae growing on the hull. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a quick dip to see some history and macro life without suiting up for a full dive, especially handy if you have non-diving friends along.
