WESTERN EAGLE - Nha Trang

The Western Eagle is one of our favourite shallow wrecks, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed dive in Nha Trang. This old dredger went down in ’69, and at just 10 metres, it’s a brilliant spot for extended bottom times and really soaking in the atmosphere. You’ll find the hull largely intact, sitting upright, with plenty of openings to peer into, though we don’t recommend full penetration given its age. We love finning slowly around the deck, spotting the resident lionfish tucked into shadowy corners and the schools of glassfish shimmering in the old cabins. Look for the nudibranchs on the encrusted metalwork – there’s usually a colourful display. It's a chilled-out dive, often with mild currents, making it ideal for photographers or anyone keen to spend an hour just exploring the wreck’s character and the life that’s made it home. If you're new to wrecks, this is a perfect introduction; it's easy to navigate and still feels like a proper historical dive.
