F69 - Kaikōura

Out in Kaikōura, the F69 wreck offers a solid dive for those keen on some metal under the waves. It’s a fishing boat, now settled on its side, making for interesting swim-throughs and plenty of nooks. We’ve found resident blue cod hovering in the wheelhouse and often spotted octopus tucked into crevices along the hull. It’s not a huge wreck, so you can take your time exploring the different sections, watching for schooling trevally that often circle above the stern. This one’s good for divers who enjoy poking around a relatively intact structure, with plenty of New Zealand’s common reef fish making a home there.
