Reef Gliders - Roatán

The team at Reef Gliders are exactly who we want to dive with when we’re in Roatán. They’re based right there in West End, which means you’re already in the thick of it, but they manage to feel a little more relaxed than some of the bigger operations. We’re big fans of their professional courses, particularly the IDC. If you’re thinking about taking that step, these guys run a really thorough program, and it genuinely feels like they’re invested in you passing. Their boats are always well-maintained, and the guides know the local reefs like the back of their hand. We particularly appreciate how they manage their groups; it’s never a cattle call, even on busy days. We’ve had some fantastic dives with them out on sites like El Aguila wreck, where the resident green morays are almost always out cruising. On a good day, the visibility at places like Mary's Place is phenomenal, with shafts of sunlight cutting through the swim-throughs, and Reef Gliders always seems to know when to hit it for the best conditions. After a morning of diving, grabbing a beer at The Blue Marlin, their onsite bar, and watching the sun drop over the water is pretty much the perfect end to a day. It’s those little things, the easygoing vibe paired with solid professionalism, that keeps us coming back.
