Lohi Kandu Thila - South Malé Atoll

Lohi Kandu Thila is one of those deeper pinnacles in South Malé that we like to save for a good current. Drop down onto the reef top around 15 metres, often packed with fusiliers, and let the flow take you along the eastern side. We've often found grey reef sharks cruising out in the blue here, along with smaller reef sharks tucked into the overhangs, so keep an eye out. The thila itself is nicely colonised by soft corals, particularly in the deeper sections. It’s a solid intermediate dive, best enjoyed when the current is pushing through and bringing the bigger stuff with it.
