Shark Point - South Malé Atoll

Shark Point is a pretty reliable spot in South Malé if you’re looking to tick off some reef sharks. We usually see a handful patrolling the sandy bottom and around the coral heads, often grey reef sharks or white-tips. It’s not an adrenaline rush by any means, more of a steady encounter, perfect for those newer to currents or who just want a relaxed dive with a good chance of seeing some bigger fish. Visibility tends to be decent here, around 15-20 meters on an average day, making it easy to spot those sharks from a distance. We’d suggest going in the morning before it gets too busy.
