Vaageli Corner - South Malé Atoll

Vaageli Corner, in South Malé, is one of those spots that feels perfectly pleasant, a nice drift dive without too much fuss. We've often found a relaxed current here, gently nudging us along a sloping reef. It’s a good place for macro photography, with a decent chance of spotting smaller gobies like the Redlined or Emery's Pygmygoby tucked into the corals. You'll see plenty of Galaxea and Wrinkle corals, forming nice little habitats. It’s a solid choice for a second dive of the day, or for divers who appreciate a calmer pace and aren't chasing pelagics.
