The team at Maritim Divers have a real knack for making everyone feel comfortable, which is why we often suggest them for divers looking to ease back into things after a break, or those just starting out. They operate out of the Maritim Resort and Spa, so it’s a slick, well-organised setup. We love that they keep their groups small; it means you’re not jostling for position on the reef and the guides actually have time to point out the little things. Head out with them and you’ll likely visit sites like The Cathedral, a fantastic cavern dive where the light shafts cut through the water like lasers. Or perhaps Tug II, a small tugboat wreck that’s now home to schools of snapper and the occasional turtle. The boat rides out are usually short, a real plus when you’re on holiday time. We’d suggest diving with them in the morning if you can, before the afternoon breeze picks up and makes the surface a bit choppy. They’re PADI through and through, offering a good range of courses if you’re looking to get certified or advance your skills while in Mauritius.
