M & M - KwaZulu-Natal

Parcel do Coronel is one of Arraial do Cabo's most reliably active sites, and it's our pick for a dive that almost guarantees schooling fish. Drop in and you're immediately enveloped by shimmering shoals of Brazilian silversides and sardines, so thick they can dim the light. We’ve seen these schools stretch for what feels like an eternity, sometimes joined by bigger blueback mullet. The Parcel itself is a sprawling reef, with a maximum depth around 17 meters, perfect for longer bottom times. Keep an eye out for the white Atlantic semele on the sand patches, and we often spot comb groupers lurking in the crevices. Stingrays are common here, gracefully gliding over the bottom, and if you’re lucky, an eagle ray might pass by in the blue. For a bustling, fish-filled dive without extreme depth, Coronel delivers every time.
