The Aquatic Centre - Paphos & Coral Bay
The team at The Aquatic Centre are just good people. We’ve spent a fair bit of time diving in Cyprus, and these guys consistently deliver a relaxed, professional experience from their bases in Paphos and Coral Bay. They operate as a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre, which means they’re brilliant for courses, whether you’re taking your first fin strokes or pushing for a Rescue Diver cert. We particularly like how they keep group sizes sensible, so you never feel like part of a cattle call, even during busy periods. Their local knowledge is top-notch. They know the wrecks around Paphos like the *Vera K* and the *White Star* inside out, often pointing out the nudibranchs tucked away or where the resident moray eels like to hang out. For something a bit different, we always push for a trip up to the Akamas Peninsula with them. The visibility there, especially in early summer, can be astounding, with those dramatic underwater rock formations and sunlight piercing through. It’s a bit more of a journey, but absolutely worth it for the quieter sites and the chance to spot loggerhead turtles. We’d suggest booking your dives for the morning slots, especially in peak season, to beat the crowds and usually get calmer conditions. And always, always ask them about their favourite post-dive taverna recommendations – they never steer us wrong.
