DS Flint - Lofoten Islands

The DS Flint, tucked away in the dramatic landscape of Norway’s Lofoten Islands, isn’t your typical Caribbean wreck dive. Forget warm water and endless visibility. This is a cold water wreck, and that’s precisely why we love it. Dropping onto the wreck, you’re enveloped by that crisp, clear Arctic water, the kind that feels like it’s scrubbing your eyeballs. We’ve found the stern section particularly photogenic, with its prop and rudder still largely intact, often silhouetted against the emerald hue of the shallow fjord. What makes Flint special is how it’s become part of the environment. The metal is draped in anemones, their tentacles swaying gently, and we always spot a few massive cod lurking in the shadows of the hold. Exploring the cargo holds offers a genuine sense of history, a silent journey back to its wartime fate. For divers who appreciate historical wrecks and aren't put off by a little chill, this is an excellent choice. We’d suggest timing your dive for a calm day; the surface conditions can be a bit lively, but underwater, it’s usually a peaceful experience.
