Cap Llebeig - Balearic Islands

Cap Llebeig is one of those Balearic dives that reminds you why you put on a wetsuit in the first place. We love the dramatic topography here, a real classic Mediterranean wall dive. Drop down and you’re immediately enveloped by the feel of the place, a cool, quiet descent alongside rock faces crusted with sponges and anemones. Look closely in the crevices; we’ve often spotted a few scorpionfish hunkered down, blending perfectly, and the occasional anglerfish if you’ve got a keen eye. The common smoothhounds glide through the deeper sections, an elegant sight. Our favourite part has to be searching for the seahorses in the seagrass beds that fan out from the base of the wall – they’re shy, but always a joy to find. You'll also see schools of barbier darting in and out, their flashes of orange a welcome contrast to the deeper blues. This site suits divers who appreciate a bit of exploration and aren't afraid to take their time, poking around the nooks and crannies. It’s not about huge pelagics here, but about the subtle, intricate beauty of the Mediterranean.
