Dragonera - Balearic Islands
The team at Dragonera are the kind of people you want to spend a week with. They’re super laid-back, but also totally on top of things, which is our favourite combination for a dive operation. Based out of Sant Elm, they’ve got prime access to the Dragonera marine reserve, which is a real treat for this part of the Med. We particularly love their focus on small groups, even for courses like Open Water or Advanced. It just makes the whole experience feel more personal, more like diving with friends than a factory line. You’ll be heading out on their custom-built RIB, which is quick and comfortable, even when there's a bit of chop. The guides know the nooks and crannies around Dragonera inside out, always pointing out the moray eels tucked into crevices or the schooling barracuda hanging in the current. Our pick for a morning dive is often one of the caves or swim-throughs – the light filtering in is just beautiful, a really ethereal blue. And if you ask nicely, they might even take you to their secret spot for seeing huge groupers. They’re PADI through and through, from beginner courses right up to Divemaster, making them a solid choice if you’re looking to progress your training in a friendly, unhurried environment.
