Mar Balear - Balearic Islands

The team at Mar Balear are the kind of outfit we love diving with. They’re based right in Port Adriano, a swankier part of Mallorca, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they’re all flash and no substance. These guys really know their local sites, especially the marine reserves like El Toro and Islas Malgrats. We’ve had some fantastic dives around El Toro with them, particularly around the pinnacle, where the schools of barracuda can be so thick they genuinely blot out the afternoon sun. If you time it right, the way the light catches their silver scales is incredible. They’re a solid choice for those just getting started or wanting to ease back into diving; their Bautizo and Try Scuba options are popular. We’d suggest heading out in the mornings if you can, before the boat traffic really picks up. The visibility around Dragonera, another one of their regular haunts, can be really crisp early on, giving you a better chance to spot the resident groupers lurking in the cracks. What we really appreciate about Mar Balear is their genuine enthusiasm for showing off the Balearic underwater world. They’re professional, sure, but also just good fun to be around.
