Dive & Fun Font de Sa Cala - Balearic Islands

Font de Sa Cala is one of those spots that often gets overlooked, but we think that’s a real shame. It’s got a genuine charm, a Mediterranean classic that delivers a solid, enjoyable dive. We’ve logged 227 species here, which is a pretty respectable count for the Med, and it’s always a treat to spot some of the less common critters like a Common smoothhound cruising by or an Elegant Cuttlefish changing colours on the reef. The site itself isn't dramatic, no huge walls or deep canyons, but that’s part of its appeal. It’s a series of rocky outcrops and smaller caves, sandy patches between them. Perfect for just drifting along, taking your time. We particularly love the late afternoon dives when the light softens, painting the rock faces in warmer tones. Look for Common Spiny Lobsters tucked into crevices and keep an eye on the sandy areas for a Bastard Sole trying to blend in. It’s a site that really rewards a slow, observant approach, excellent for macro fans or newer divers wanting to build confidence in a calm environment.
