Dive & Fun Font de sa Cala - Balearic Islands
Font de sa Cala is a cracking little spot, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed dive with a good chance of seeing something a bit different. We love that it feels less frenetic than some of the bigger sites on the island. The rocky seabed here is great for spotting bottom dwellers; we’ve had some cracking encounters with common smoothhounds cruising past and spotted rays tucked into the sand. Keep an eye out for the wrinkled swimming crabs scuttling about and the bushy coral, which adds a nice splash of colour against the rock. Our favourite thing about Font de sa Cala is the sheer variety of smaller, often overlooked species. You’ll see plenty of green wrasse flitting between the rocks and the striking Mediterranean feather stars clinging to anything sturdy. It's a fantastic site for macro enthusiasts or divers who prefer a slower pace to really take in the details. Go early in the morning before the day boats get going; the visibility tends to be at its best then, and the light filtering through the water is gorgeous.
