Pere Manel Wreck - Balearic Islands

The Pere Manel Wreck, tucked away off the Balearic coast, is one of our favourite Mediterranean dives. We love a wreck that tells a story, and this old trawler, lying broken but remarkably intact, certainly does. Dropping down, you’ll first notice the sheer scale of it, the bow section still rising majestically from the seabed. Penetration is possible for experienced wreck divers, offering glimpses into its past life – the wheelhouse is a particular highlight, often swarming with schools of damselfish. Look out for moray eels peeking from the shadows, and we've even spotted octopus camouflaged against the hull. The way the light filters through the structure on a sunny day is just magical, illuminating the soft corals that have started to reclaim it. We’d suggest diving this one early in the morning for the best visibility and fewer other divers.
