DENDIT - West Coast (Gothenburg)

DENDIT isn’t your typical Swedish wreck dive, and that’s why we love it. This isn't some pristine, upright showpiece. Sunk back in '87, this old fishing vessel is low in the water, giving it a ghost-like presence as you descend. It feels like you’re dropping onto a shadow first, then the reality of the steel emerges. Visibility can be a real lottery here, but on a good day, when the light penetrates through the green tint, it’s genuinely atmospheric. We’ve found the best time to dive it is usually late morning, after any overnight current has settled. You’ll spend most of your time around 20-25m, navigating the collapsed superstructure. Don't expect dramatic swim-throughs, but the encrusting life is fantastic. Large plumose anemones thrive on the decks, their feathery tentacles swaying with the surge, and the nooks and crannies are packed with small velvet crabs and gobies. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, peering into every dark opening. For divers who appreciate the raw history of a wreck, rather than just its form, DENDIT is a standout. It’s a quiet, reflective dive, perfect for photographers looking for an evocative shot rather than a colourful one.
