ELIN - West Coast (Gothenburg)

The ELIN, a cutter vessel, lies upright at 19 metres off Gothenburg’s West Coast. She sank after a fire, and you can still see evidence of that blaze, especially around the wheelhouse. We found her to be a manageable wreck, broken but not completely collapsed, offering some swim-throughs into the cargo hold if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. What she lacks in big pelagics, she makes up for with the small stuff; crabs scuttling in crevices, blennies peering out from nooks, and a good coating of anenomes and sponges, giving her a surprisingly colourful appearance for a colder water wreck. She’s a good one for newer wreck divers looking for a direct penetration without too much complexity.
