NORDVEST - West Coast (Gothenburg)

The Nordvest, sitting upright at 30 metres, is one of our favourite wreck dives off the Swedish west coast. This old fishing vessel, sunk back in 1950, isn't just a pile of metal; it’s a proper time capsule, draped in decades of growth. You’ll find the deck covered in dead man's fingers and anemones, with schools of cod and pollock weaving in and out of the wheelhouse. We love exploring the holds, if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. The light filtering through the decay creates some genuinely eerie but beautiful scenes. It’s a site for experienced divers, given the depth and potential for currents. Our advice? Go on a calm day; the visibility can be patchy, but when it’s good, the Nordvest truly shines. It feels like you're diving into history.
