WAR PATH (POSSIBLY) - West Coast (Gothenburg)

The WAR PATH is a proper dive, one we keep coming back to. She’s a British standard steamship, down since 1919, sitting upright and mostly intact at 48 metres. Dropping down, you hit the bow first, then glide along the deck, past the cargo holds which are surprisingly open. The visibility here can be superb, letting the scale of the 79-metre hull really sink in. We love exploring the superstructure, especially the bridge area, where the metalwork is draped in orange and white plumose anemones. Look for squat lobsters tucked into every crevice and the occasional ling lurking in the shadows. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts, those comfortable with deeper decompression profiles, and who appreciate a piece of history frozen in time. Our favourite part is navigating the engine room access, a truly atmospheric experience if you've got the gas for it.
