Calvados rocks
Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Calvados rocks offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest reef diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Calvados Rocks offer a decent dive when the conditions are right, though it’s not always the most forgiving spot. We’ve found decent rocky structures here, giving plenty of nooks and crannies for crustaceans and smaller fish to hide. It's a site that rewards patient divers who enjoy exploring cracks and crevices, rather than seeking big pelagics. Best suited for those comfortable with varied conditions and looking for a solid reef dive.
