Casper 2 - Cornwall & Devon

Casper 2, for us, is all about the story, especially given its shallow depth. You're not looking for monumental structures here, but rather a haunting glimpse into a recent tragedy. This yacht, sitting at a mere two metres, is incredibly accessible, meaning even snorkelers can get a good look, making it a fantastic option for mixed groups of divers and non-divers alike. What we love about Casper 2 is the way the sea has already started to reclaim it. We’ve seen small shoals of pollack darting through the broken superstructure, and crabs scuttling amongst the debris on the seabed. It’s a stark reminder of the power of the ocean, and how quickly it can consume even modern vessels. Our tip? Go at high tide on a calm day. The visibility can be surprisingly good then, and the light filtering through the surface ripples really adds to the atmosphere. You won’t be dropping deep, but you will be connecting with a very real, very present piece of maritime history.
