    StandoutExceptional marine biodiversity

The CID wreck sits at a comfortable 20 metres, an old collier that went down off Alderney way back in 1891. While it’s technically classified as "dangerous," that just means it's been around long enough for the sea to have really worked it over. What you’ll find now is a scattered but well-colonised site; the remains have become home to wrasse darting between the plates, spider crabs tucked into crevices, and dead man's fingers adding bursts of colour to the metal. It’s a good dive for those who appreciate history and the way the ocean reclaims things, rather than intact structures. We'd suggest it for divers looking for a relaxed exploration rather than a deep penetration.
