CORNISH LASS - Cornwall & Devon

The Cornish Lass is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to. She’s only a small fishing vessel, just over ten metres long, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in atmosphere. Dropping onto her at 36 metres, you’ll find her mostly intact, a ghostly wooden skeleton resting upright on the seabed. We love seeing how nature has reclaimed her; the hull is smothered in plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying gently in the current, and you’ll often spot a conger eel or two peeking out from beneath the deck. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration. Take your time to peer into the wheelhouse, imagine the day she sank without warning back in 1986. While not a dive for absolute beginners due to the depth, if you’re comfortable with deeper dives and appreciate a wreck with a real story, the Cornish Lass is a genuinely rewarding experience. We’d suggest hitting this one on a slack tide for the best visibility, which, let’s be honest, can be a bit hit or miss in these waters.
