CORNUCOPIA (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The *Cornucopia* is a proper dive, a deep, atmospheric wreck off the Cornish coast that we’re always keen to get back to. She’s a steamship, built in 1887, and sits upright at 35 metres, usually drawing a fairly consistent current that keeps the visibility decent. Dropping onto her bow, you immediately feel the history; the mast lies forward, draped in kelp, and the anchor chains are still in place, running out to either side. We love exploring the engine room, which is fairly open and gives a real sense of the ship’s scale. Look for the massive propeller shaft stretching aft, now home to armies of squat lobsters and spider crabs. This isn’t a wreck for the faint-hearted or newly qualified, but for experienced cold-water divers, it’s a brilliant, contemplative dive into a piece of maritime history, often with schooling pollack circling the superstructure.
