DIAMENT - Cornwall & Devon

The *Diament* is one of those wrecks that truly tells a story. Sunk in 1942, a German war prize that met its end on Dog Nest Rock, it’s now a pretty well-scattered collection of metal, but that’s precisely its charm. We love drifting over the twisted plates and sections of hull, imagining the ship's final moments. It sits in relatively shallow water, so you get good light penetration on most days, illuminating the kelp-covered debris. What you'll experience here is less about penetration and more about exploration. We spend our time poking around the jumbled metalwork, watching conger eels peek from dark crevices and schools of pollack flit through the gaps. You’ll find plenty of crabs scuttling amongst the rocks too. This site is brilliant for macro photographers or anyone who enjoys a gentle drift over history. It's a great second dive, or a relaxed first dive if you're not chasing anything too deep. Look for the distinct boiler, it's usually a hotspot for life.
