ESTRELITA - Cornwall & Devon

The Estrelita, a fishing vessel that went down in 1975, sits upright and largely intact at 17 metres, making it a proper playground for divers. We love how the wheelhouse is still there, a perfect swim-through, complete with the occasional curious pollock peeking out from the gloom. You can make your way along the deck, often finding spider crabs scuttling amongst the old fishing gear, or spot a dogfish tucked away under a plate. It’s a gentle wreck dive, forgiving for those getting comfortable with overhead environments, but still interesting enough for experienced wreckies to enjoy a good rummage around. Our favourite time to dive her is on a slack tide, with a good bit of sun; the light filters down through the water, making the rust colours almost glow. Just be mindful of the occasional bit of discarded line.
