EWT 263 (FWD PART) - Cornwall & Devon

The EWT 263 (FWD PART) isn't your typical wreck dive, and that’s precisely why we love it. Sunk in 1971, this barge lies in a mere two metres of water off The Lizard, making it less about deep exploration and more about a unique shallow water adventure. We’d suggest hitting this on a calm, sunny day; the light penetration here is beautiful, illuminating the exposed metalwork. You’ll find a surprisingly robust ecosystem has taken hold. Deadman's fingers sprout from every crevice, creating a surreal, almost furry landscape across the fragmented hull. Look closely and you’ll spot blennies darting between the plates, and often, small schools of pollack hanging just above the structure. It's a fantastic spot for macro photography, or just for enjoying the way a familiar object transforms into a marine home. This site suits snorkelers and very shallow divers looking for something a bit different, a glimpse into history without the depth.
