Far Mulberry - Cornwall & Devon

Alright, Far Mulberry. This one's a favourite for a relaxed afternoon dip, especially if you’re newer to wreck diving or just fancy something chilled. It's not deep, just 11 metres, which means plenty of bottom time to really nose around. What we love about this site is the history – it's a section of a Mulberry harbour, one of those ingenious portable concrete docks used in the D-Day landings. Seeing these massive, broken concrete sections now colonised by local life is just fantastic. You'll find little pockets to peek into, maybe a conger eel tucked away, or shoals of bib darting through the gaps. The concrete provides a great surface for anemones and hydroids to cling to, creating these unexpectedly colourful patches against the grey. Visibility can vary, but on a good day, with a bit of sunshine filtering down, it's quite atmospheric. We always suggest trying to hit it around slack high water; the currents here can be a bit frisky otherwise. It’s not a thrill-a-minute dive, but it’s a genuinely interesting piece of history, easy to navigate, and perfect for getting comfortable with wreck exploration.
