FISHER LASS - Cornwall & Devon

The *Fisher Lass* is a proper wreck dive, sitting upright and mostly intact on the seabed at 34 metres. We love it because it’s a chunky trawler, not just a pile of scattered planks. You can drop onto the stern and work your way forward, peering into what’s left of the wheelhouse, though much of the superstructure has started to collapse in on itself. The bow section often feels a bit like a ghost ship, still pointing resolutely ahead even after its collision in '71. Expect to see plenty of pollack hanging around the mast and a few conger eels tucked into the deeper recesses of the holds. We’ve even spotted big lobsters in the gaps where the plating has started to peel back. Visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, as it often is in the Channel, but on a good day, with the sun breaking through, the sheer scale of the wreck really hits you. It’s definitely one for experienced divers comfortable with deeper wrecks and the potential for a bit of current. Our tip? Aim for slack tide; it makes exploring the interior much more enjoyable.
