FLINT KLIPPER - Cornwall & Devon

The Flint Klipper isn't your typical deep dive, and honestly, we love it for that. This yacht came to grief near the eastern entrance to Cherbourg Harbour in 1976, and what's left is now scattered in very shallow water, barely a metre deep. Think of it as a historical treasure hunt best explored on snorkel or free dive. You’ll find sections of the hull, some ribs, and various bits of boat machinery spread across the rocky seabed. It’s a great spot for honing your breath-hold or just a leisurely fin around, enjoying the sun glinting off the fragments. We’ve seen blennies darting between pieces of twisted metal and anemones clinging to the rust-stained rock. The light here is usually fantastic, illuminating the wreck’s details and the surprising amount of life it now shelters. It’s our pick for a relaxed afternoon, especially if you’re looking for something different from the usual deep wreck penetration. Just watch your fins, it's quite spread out.
