HMS CORONATION (PART) - Cornwall & Devon

The HMS Coronation (Part) isn't your typical wreck dive. Forget huge intact structures; this site is a fascinating spread of what's left of a 17th-century warship, scattered across the seabed at a shallow 5 metres. We love it because it’s a living history lesson, right there under the waves. You’re not just looking at a wreck; you’re exploring the remains of a significant vessel lost in a storm off Rame Head. What you'll find here are timbers, cannons, and other artefacts that have been claimed by the ocean and colonised by local marine life. It’s an archaeological site, really, demanding a bit of imagination to piece together the story. Visibility can be hit or miss in Cornwall, but on a good day, the sunlight filters down, illuminating patches of the seabed. Look closely among the wreckage for spider crabs lurking in crevices and inquisitive wrasse darting between timbers. It's a dive that rewards slow, deliberate exploration and an appreciation for maritime history, making it perfect for divers who enjoy a treasure hunt over a grand structure.
