HMS LOCH ERINBOLL (STERN PART)(PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

We love a good mystery, and the stern section of what we *think* is the HMS Loch Erinboll definitely fits the bill. Dropping onto it at 58m, you’re in serious technical diving territory here, but the rewards are considerable. What immediately strikes you is the sheer scale and the way it’s settled, upright and proud, on the seabed. You can often feel the slight tug of current down here, bringing in nutrients and visibility that can stretch to a surprisingly clear 15-20 metres on a good day. This wreck feels substantial. Our favourite part is descending into the propeller area, the blades still intact, almost reaching up to meet you. It’s dark down there, a real sense of history. Look closely for the resident conger eels, some absolutely massive, peering out from gaps in the plating, and the jewel anemones clinging to the deeper structures, glowing softly in your torch beam. This is a site for experienced trimix divers who appreciate deep history and a genuinely challenging, rewarding dive.
