IMPLACABLE - Cornwall & Devon

The *Implacable* sits deep, a proper technical dive at 58 metres. We love this wreck for its sheer presence, a former tug on its way to the Falklands when it decided to call Cornwall home on Christmas Eve, 1984. Dropping down, you feel the depth, the light fading, and then the outline of that 32-metre hull emerges from the gloom. It’s upright, largely intact, and when you get there, the sheer scale of the props and rudder is impressive. Inside, we’ve found the engine room surprisingly open, a cavernous space where conger eels lurk in shadowed pipes, their heads swaying gently in our torch beams. Everywhere you look, plumose anemones flower in soft white and orange, catching what little current there is. This is a dive for those comfortable with significant depth and decompression, a true expedition into a wreck that tells a story, and a site that always delivers that quiet thrill of discovery.
