Inner Mulberry - Cornwall & Devon

The Inner Mulberry site in Cornwall is one of those dives that just makes you smile. At a consistent 8m, it’s a perfect beginner wreck, completely unstressed. We love how the concrete sections of the Mulberry harbour unit are still so clearly defined, especially when the light filters down on a calm day. You can trace the outlines of the massive blocks that were part of the D-Day landings, a truly tangible piece of history sitting right there. It’s not a site for big pelagics, but the smaller stuff is wonderful. Look closely and you’ll find plenty of gobies darting into crevices, blennies peering out, and anenomes blooming from every surface. We’ve spent ages just watching velvet swimming crabs scuttle across the concrete. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical for the UK, but on a good day, it’s surprisingly clear and calm. Our favourite time to dive it is an hour before slack high water, when the current is at its gentlest and the light is usually best. It’s a gentle exploration, a lovely potter, and a real accessible slice of history for new divers.
